Religion Light

The original conversation was much, much longer with many, many more offensive and therefore entertaining things said throughout. I had to edit, please enjoy what's left of it:

rajima: did you know muslims believe in the virginity of mary?

erl: it sucks even in the old days guys get to be slutty and girls have to be freaking virgins after they give birth to be considered respectable.

rajima: i borrowed my dad's english version of the koran. it's waaaay shorter than the bible and easier to read. and the chapters have cute titles. which isn't important i know. but the titles are like "the ant," "the bee," "mary." and it was really funny timing because just then ants were ravishing our kitchen.

erl: is that mary like mary, jesus mary

rajima: yeah that mary. muslims are quite fond of her.

erl: my aunt loves her.

rajima: it was still weird to hear my dad say the word "virginity."

erl: see you have to be a really good virgin to be like by everyone. like i bet she was nice, pretty, and chaste, you know

rajima: yeah, and thin

erl: kinda like vero but no sex

rajima: yeah like vero but with our coloring... and then my dad asked me why i asked him about this stuff and about this book called "why i'm not a christian" which is by a really awesome philosopher. and i told him that it's because i wanted to know if (name emitted) would go to heaven but then i'd go to hell.

erl: what did he say?

rajima: my dad was cute, he paused and told me "don't worry, you're not going to hell." which was oddly comforting. you can post this.

erl: i will. it's like religion light.

rajima: just substitute the name (name emitted) for "selfish douche bag"
